Good but not like some of the mnemonics books 7 Jan. 2014
By Alla - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
When studying for the SAT I remember using mnemonics books that would make learning English vocabulary fun and entertaining, by giving you catchy phrases or easy to remember pictures that would help to retain learned information. This book does not include any of that but is rather organized in a bit of dry fashion. It is, however, a good resource when viewed in company of other TOEFL products on the market - they all seem a bit dry and boring.

Barron's Essential Words for the TOEFL 8 April 2011
By Joseph J. Mclinden - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
TOEFL teachers are always looking for supplementary material to use in their classrooms.
This is simply an expansion of the standard TOEFL literature that exists. It is organized and
easily understood. If you are a TOEFL teacher you'll enjoy the addition to your curriculum.

This book is well organized and gives the additional vocabulary practice that's hard to find. Simply
by doing TOEFL reading practice is not enough to remember the words you've encountered. The
only shortcoming is that the exercises are too obvious and simple. The examples and synonyms are
spot on, however.

The book content, the learning material it is quite good, but the pages and paper it is not good at all. 1 week after i got my book, the pages started to break and the glue didn't hold them.
easy to understand and good to have 7 Jan. 2014

It's a good tool to learn new words with their synonyms. And the sentences are easy to understand and you can learn the meaning of the new words with them.
