5.0 out of 5 stars the essential for 2005! 9 Oct 2005
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
i have been a huge fan of the essential selection series which i first started collecting back in 1998. there hasnt been many of these compilations for a while and pete has made great work of this one. when i first listened to it, i didnt think too much of it (as it is a bit different from other mixes) but after i had gone through the albumn a few times i realised how excellent it is! this cd is deffinately a must for this year as it doesnt contain cheese (such as the new ministry of sound cd's). the best essential selections where the ones ranging from 1998-1999, and i would highly reccomend them. it would have been nice to see a limited edition version of this essential, but the cd is great anyway! there is a wide range of music spread out across both cd's, and most of it is heard in the clubs. if you are sick of the same charty rubbish, then this is a must!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential Selection 4 Oct 2005
By N£!L
Format:Audio CD
Pete Tong is undoubtedly one of Britains biggest DJs holding down for 7 years the Essential Selection radio show. Pete has showcased some of the biggest songs over the years many weeks before they hit the mainstream. The Essential Selection is complete with some of the biggest tracks over the last year or so that Pete has been regularily spinning on air. Mainly funky house with some eclectic tracks the highlights must be Mylo, Chemical Brothers and Bob Sinclar songs. There are also fantastic remix's of U2's City Of Blinding Lights and the best track on the album, The Killers and Mr Brightside. All of the other big songs in club land are here and the album is perfect way to kick off your weekend night out.
