This guide book is an excellent tool for the tourist of Rome. The maps are very useful, although some of the smaller streets aren't named, it's good enough to get you where you want to go. The information on what to see and do is fantastic, as there are many things you may have missed if you didn't have this book. Obviously it talks about the big things such as The Vatican and Colosseum, but it also points out interesting museums, churches, art galleries, restaurants etc which can make your trip even more memorable. There is good information on things like the public transportation system, business hours, safety tips, and even a few words of Italian you could learn. The book also details some excursions you could make to interesting places outside of Rome, should you wish to have a day away from the big city. The only bad thing I found about this book is that the information isn't 100% accurate, I found a couple of things regarding how to get to places were wrong. Specifically how to get to Tivoli and Villa Adriano, but you can check the Internet to find the best route. All in all though this book is a necessity for anyone heading to Rome.
