Mercury Records was founded in postwar Chicago in 1945 by factory chief Irving Green, booking agent Berle Adams and advertising executive Arthur Talmadge. Though Mercury's impact on the rockabilly scene wasn't as great as some of its rival labels, it should not be underestimated. Some of the genre's most fascinating and charismatic artists were involved with the label as the movement was beginning to take off in the US. Here we have handpicked no less than 40 tracks that helped shape an era-defining musical genre.
(2CD) MERCURY STORY - 40 original recordings digitally remastered featuring Curtis Gordon, Sleepy LaBeef, Narvel Felts, George Jones, Eddie Bond, Johnny Jay & more!
