After reading reviews for this book I thought it looked pretty good for it's price, and when it arrived (earlier then delivery estimate) I was pleased to find out that it was even better then I hoped for.
My main reason for getting this book was to have a index of Kanji to look at for artistical purposes and being able to translate friends names into kanjis. If you're looking for a book to teach you basic japanese, then this isn't the right one. It does have loads of kanji in it, but only a small english to kanji dictionary with a few main words, it's main focus is translating kanjis to japanese and english, say if you're reading something which has kanji on it you can look it up in here.
In adition to the list of 2000 kanji, there is a index at the back telling you at which page you can find the kanji for a japanese word.
Each kanji has a storke pattern so you can see which way you should write it.
