We received the item within 2 days of ordering through the Super Saver shipping. the kit looked very simple but included everything required. It included a fancy finger-pricking device which is probably good for those who are queasy about needles as you can't see the sharp end. You simply press down the little plastic tube on the end of your finger and the sharp end quickly pricks it (there's a spring inside).
You'll definitely want to lay out all the items before you start as well as thoroughly read the instructions. However, we found them easy to follow and had no issues getting very clear results.
I would recommend this as an inexpensive and quick way to determine your blood type.

I ordered this kit on Monday and it arrived on Wednesday. There were lots of steps to follow in the instructions and my husband and I both read through to make sure we knew what we were doing, but each step was simple, just not a task to be rushed. I think the kit was easier to use with someone else to help apply the blood to the test card and I would have found it awkward (but not impossible) on my own. We used the two tests in the kit to test my husband's blood type and we also tested mine (which I already knew) which gave the correct result. This reassured me that my husband's would be correct too.

I was a little sceptical at first on using any do it yourself type kits and this didnt alter when i received the package as the paper instructions seemed quite complicated and fiddly. However the instructions do advise to watch a very short (couple of minutes)video. This really is advisable as everything became a whole lot simpler. If you're not adverse to lancing your own finger with the lancet then the whole process is a piece of cake and the results extremely clear and easy to work out against the chart they give. I must admit I chickened out when it came to using the lancet on my finger and got the nurse at the doctors to do it for me. However this did cost a further £25. With the test tube of blood in my hand I took it home and performed the rest of the test which took no more than five minutes. It is advisable to have a hairdryer to hand at the end otherwise you can wait a long time for the blood to dry. Once dry you stick a clear piece of film over the result on the card which they supply and hey presto you end up with a laminated type blood ID card which you have for life. I hope this review helps. I really would give it a go and even if like me you're a bit sqeamish when it comes to lancing your finger it is still cheaper than going privately. You can always get a partner, relative or friend to do it for you!!!..
