<><>"Buy this ONLY if you are tone deaf!"<><>
--well skippy, not sure what you're listening to, but seeing as this is a COMPILATION set it would have been better if you had actually said something helpful.
<><>"... the musicians continuously lose track of the key... they go flat, or they go sharp on so many notes that anyone with even a modicum of music ability will find their head hurts after listening to this..."<><>
--As your review stands now it sounds like you were listening to a completely different album since --I reiterate-- this is a COMPILATION. I curious to know which of the 40 or so artists you are refering too, or which of the 40+ songs you are refering to.
<><>"Do not buy....(frankly, I'm amazed the recording passed quality check at any recording studio!!!!... so off key!!!!)"<><>
--Again as this is a COMPILATION spaning from the 1950's to present and as such there are bound to be differences in the recording quality between 1950 and now. I think you may have submitted the review for the wrong album...next time make sure you double check. Now on to the actual review.
I CANNOT say enough good things about this box set. John Child's does a superb job in selecting the music. There is something in there for everyone. He includes New York Salsa Dura, colombian salsa, Mambo, he gives you a little bit of everything. As for the quality of the recordings, top notch, no complains, go out and buy it!!!
