Product Description

Product Description

When Lucy, age 5, informs her mother that she is an alien, Maya does what any sensible mother would do: She asks what kind.

She is wholly unprepared for Lucy's response.

Essentia is the tale of a little girl's unshakable belief and a mother trying do what is best for her child in the face of mounting evidence that perhaps, just maybe, her daughter is telling the truth.

This is Essentia, Part 1: Activate. Part 2: Enervate and Part 3: Resonate are now available.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mesmerized 28 Mar. 2013

I just finished reading Essentia, and I am so anxious to read the next part! G.M. Whitley has an effortless eloquence in the way she tells a story. The details are so vivid and awe inspiring that you can't help but be entranced. This is such a thoughtful and clever piece of literature, I only wonder whether G.M. Herself is not Essentia attempting to deliver her message! LOVED it!! D.M. Alvis

5.0 out of 5 stars Essentia Review 26 Mar. 2013

Just finished reading Essentia and was distressed to learn that I need to wait until early summer to find out the ending. It has lots of imagination and enough reality to make me wonder what is real and what is not - a good read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Clever, original, and compelling. 24 Oct. 2014

Finally, after so many crap novels by indie authors I've bought, downloaded, read, and regretted, I finally struck gold. The 4 and 5 star ratings on this one are, for once, accurate. This is a very original and captivating tale about a young girl who realizes she is an alien. No spoilers, so I'll stop right there. Very minor complaints: the pacing is pretty swift, with not too much description (e.g., of settings), not too much reflection and breathing space between action scenes, and not quite enough character development. But the concept and the plot itself carry the day. I bought Part 2 immediately upon finishing Part 1. You will too, trust me. VERY hard to put down.

4.0 out of 5 stars A mom's delima 25 Mar. 2014

I chose this book as my mom recommended that I have a look at the website. After reading the reviews, I decided to buy the ebook. I know my son will enjoy reading Essentia too. Not sure what I would have done in Maya's position. I enjoy the communication that John and Maya have with each other. Social media is hard enough let alone when your young child tells you that they are an alien. I am very much looking forward to the next instalment!

4.0 out of 5 stars G.M. Whitley thinks out of the box 17 Mar. 2013

What an interesting book--elements of science fiction, spiritual values & political commentary all rolled into one. A good read..I'll be waiting for the next two books of this trilogy.
