I have been the owner of the book Espana Viva and have found it invaluable for getting around in Spain whilst travelling to visit my friend. I recently bought the tape pack and follow it every week with a Spanish speaker. It teaches things you need to know as soon as you step foot on Spanish soil, well worth it.

I definitely recommend this book to all students of the Spanish Launguage. The BBC have created a first class study of this subject for all who wish to learn to speak, understand and write in this language, whether for class use, or the individual student. It's easy to read, follow and mimic from the word go; covering many other aspects about Spain and the Spanish people and their way of life, often not covered by other books. The three included CD's, actual pictures of the people involved, and the highlighting of necessary verb declensions, make this book well worth the money.

This book is really good for completely beginner of Spanish. It introduces a lot of expressions which seem to be very useful in a real life in Spain. Furthermore, it explains grammar points as well as people lives. I can do exercises with joy after I finish each unit.Besides, the listening CD contains good explanations and questions. I enjoy listening to it when I drive a car.
