Escort Carriers in Action is yet another in the highly successful Squadron/Signal series. The content is arranged by carrier type and gives a brief description of the class and their careers. Both picture & line drawings are first class but unfortunately,the text leaves more than a lot to be desired. If nothing else this series tends to be factually correct but this volume lets the side down very badly. There are numerous errors throughout the book eg Bouge instead of Bogue and without really trying I counted 43 mistakes mainly in ship names and ultimate disposal details. Whilst I realise this series tends to concentrate on the visual ,this does not excuse the plethora of text errors. As a picture book it's first class but as a written history it's so full of errors it really spoils one's enjoyment of the book.
