The graphic art of Maurits Cornelis Escher is like that of no other artist. Instantly recognizable to millions around the world, his works represent an endlessly fascinating marriage of art and mathematics. Exploring themes of infinity and paradox, impossible geometry and warped perspective, Eschers world is one of playful imagination and the unexpected, executed with precision and exquisite attention to detail. This outsized, lavish books pop-up format adds even more intrigue, bringing his dazzling, baffling designs to life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Stunning 14 Nov 2011
Format:Hardcover
I've always been fascinated by the seemingly impossible images that Escher created in 2-D, and I was intrigued to see how they would translate to a 3-D presentation.

I was not disappointed, the incredibly inventive paper engineering of Courtney Watson McCarthy really does bring Escher's art to life, my particular favourite in this collection being Bond of Union. The quality of both the paper engineering and the images themselves are first rate and I would recommend this book to Escher fans and pop-up collectors alike.

5.0 out of 5 stars Escher Pop-ups 13 Sep 2012
By Aubrey
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
Being familiar with Escher's work, I was interested to see how it could be turned into a pop-up book. In fact the book is very ingenious, and the added three-dimensional effects do add to the original. There are not many pop-ups, but they are well made and work well
