This is a hidden object game only, not a click and point adventure. No interruptions for storyline, conversations or cut-ins. Pretty much old school in terms of this genre and as such was a pleasant change.
The artwork is quite good and each scene is pretty full of objects. The artist(s) have paid no heed to size, scale, orientation or placement etc but, unlike some of the low end games, this was very well done. The scenes appeared crowded but not overly so and, although on first glance it does seem a little daunting, you may wonder if you'll be able to find anything.
There are only 10 items to find at a time but you do revisit each scene many times. At first this was okay but after many hours it did get a bit boring. However, there are so many items in each area no matter how many times it was revisited there were hardly any repeat clues.
The clues themselves ranged from straightforward item name to vague description and even really obscure. For instance: `eliminates wrinkles' was an iron and `foot without toes' was a wooden ruler. You get the idea. There are also items to match together, normally one per new picture.
In addition to the listed items there are 2 locks in each new game. Collect all 50 and this releases the bonus material. This only applies to new pictures and once revisited the locks have gone. Personally, I searched for these first to ensure they were collected as I didn't want to play it all again just to release the bonus level.
At the outset you can chose the level you wish to play at and if you want hints or not. The hints, if chosen, are limitless and immediately available again after use.
There are 25 levels in all with anything from 3 to 8 scenes per level which should give you some idea how many items you'll need to find.
After each level there are mini games which are quite easy but pleasant on the eye and include `word search', 'tile match' and `three-in-a-row'. None of the mini games can be skipped. The last mini game has clues in the picture but the hint button isn't available so if you get stuck so you may have to get the answer on line.
If you have collected all the locks then at the end the bonus levels are made available however they are only a series of `three-in-a-row' games.
For the price this is one of the most value-for-money games of this genre and will provide hours and hours of game play. The choice to replay in a timed mode and without hints adds even more. 5 stars all round.
