Review

A thorough examination of German strategy and Rommel's take on it and his style of command and leadership that lead him to both victory and failure. Very highly recommended. --Military Modelcraft International

The perfect companion for all military history enthusiasts is: THE ROMA VICTRIX WINE BEAKERCalix Imperium, Roma Victrix Pewter wine beaker

In this command edition author Battistelli takes look at the life of Erwin Rommel, from his early years through his WWI experiences and the events of WWII that shaped his career and those that eventually caused him to take his life in late 1944. Throughout the book are period photos and superb artwork that includes maps and charts of the campaigns in which he was involved.

All in all, it is a fascinating look at one of Germany's iconic personalities.

Have been an admirer of Rommel for a long time and now I have more time on my hands decided to read about him. There were various books on the subject, but this seemed the one that covered all the different facets. It seemed a good choice as it did what it said on the tin! Was very pleased with my choice as I thought I had picked up all there was to know over the years about the man, but was pleasantly surprised to find out otherwise from this book.

This book is more pictures than real facts, so disappointed with the contents and overall another book for the charity shop
