If you like Italian singers, and I'm referring to that nasal pop sound so frequently heard in Italy, you'll love Eros. He's hard to beat. This fabulous singer/songwriter is simply one of the best in Europe, and the strength and emotion in his voice, as well as in his compositions, are something to hear, and experience.

The highlights: The duets..."Musica E", with Andrea Bocelli, is a long (9'48 minutes) and beautifully melodic piece, unique and gorgeous. "Le Cose della Vita/Can't Stop Thinking of You" with Tina Turner is a knockout. They actually have very similar voices, which makes it a fabulous blend of sound.
Perhaps my favorite track is the jazzy "Memorie", sung to a solo piano accompaniment, so finely played by Celso Valli. That last note is exquisite !

This CD is nearly 77 minutes long, so you're getting a lot of great music for your purchase...music that comes from the heart of a very creative, polished artist.

Eros Ramazzotti is one of the most important Italian songwriters/singers when it comes to the 90s. He created so many amazing pop ballads with that extra quality to them. That is why it is truly amazing how he never made it in the UK, while he is largely recognized in almost every other territory in Europe. This is his greatest hits package and the space is used very economically with 16 excellent offerings in just under 80 minutes.
It's hard to name the favorites like with any "best of" album but the huge songs here are Adesso Tu, an incredible power ballad, Piu' bella cosa, one of his latest hits, Se Bastasse Una Canzone (his biug European hit), Un' Altra te, Quanto Amore Sei... My personal favorite here is the duet with Andrea Bocelli (who sells truckloads in the UK) Musica e, an epic that almost hits the 10 minute mark and the song I first heard on this album. Anyway, this best of is more than just italian music flavor for nostalgic tourists. This is what Robbie Williams will never achieve!

romantic, stirring, erotic, only heard him in an Italian restaurant and ending up spending twice the bill on CD's the next day - listen to Una Storia Importante - wonderful - I want to learn Italian!!!
