Ass Kicking Belgian Black Metal tinged Hardcore 2 Sept. 2014
By DeadandBuried81 - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Spastic Hardcore quartet Outbreaker bring an impressive level of dynamics to their 2nd LP. Like late 90's early 00's metallic hardcore pushed all buttons into overdrive but occasional a band would stick out and not play everything at breakneck speed and introduce something different to make the heavier parts easier to digest.

Oathbreaker's Maelstrom impressed the hell out of the hardcore community with a Converge-esque approach (with less impressive drumming) hailing from Belgium with a hot chick screaming like a demon. But with Eros/Anteros, the band definitely had an open discussion about progression before hitting the record button. Caro Tanghe's frenetic black metal-pitched vocals take a break for a bit and reintroduces some droney (ala Jucifer) clean vocals that adds a new personality to the band (see the sludgy Offer Aan De Leegte). Songs tend to drop out for cleaner ambience and spacey pedal manipulation versus a full assault of of "chug chug noodling" as seen on Maelstrom.

If you worship the bands of this nature from the Phase 1 era of metallic harcdore you will flip over this. Highly recommended.
Women make the best screamers!!!!!! 6 Feb. 2015

Female fronted bands are great, but when you mix raw intensity and emotion, with raw furious production, throw in punk, black metal, and hardcore, you get one of the most slept on bands on the planet. Genre is a dime a dozen, so many labels and titles, who's to know what is what? First off Deathwish, the label as a whole, never put's out garbage. If you are into female fronted bands then I suggest fellow Deathwish label mates, Punch, they are more of an punk rawk raw version of Oathbreaker. Oathbreaker are Young and in the way, with a female front, just my opinion.
