Product Description

Product Description

"The Erika Knight Collectables" series continues with these two gorgeous new titles, designed to make the most of your home. These outstanding project books gather together 15 designs for home furnishings and accessories and act as an ideal complement to one another. The front sections of the books contain full-colour photographs of the finished projects, whilst the practical sections at the back give complete instructions and patterns, along with all the necessary techniques. Adding sumptuous texture to any room, "Classic at Home" is a tightly focused collection of relaxed classic casuals. Projects range from a quintessential knit throw in the softest cashmere blend yarn to a practical wash mitt knitted in hemp, as well as a chic yoga mat and slippers for essential comfort. Each textile has been carefully considered for its handcrafted charm that will withstand the vagaries of fashion and ranges from cotton, alpaca and hemp to merino, linen and cashmere blends, whilst the colours of the yarns work together to create a universally appealing palette. In contrast the designs in "Glamour at Home" are a little piece of girlie heaven, turning the dullest room into a seductive salon. This book is all about the perfect finishing touches which give a basic project an unexpected lift: a basic silk cushion decorated with a cluster of mother-of-pearl buttons, or an otherwise mundane coathanger turned into a must-have accessory with ribbon, sequins and trims. The yarns are sensuous, soft and opulent: velvet chenille, whisper-fine mohair and flowing satin, and the trimmings include lace and ribbon, embroidery and beads.

Format:Hardcover
its good but not great in my opinion. 'glamour at home'? i dont think so, but thats down to peoples perspective i guess. theres only one thing i like in this book. i think this and 'classic at home' should be combined and reduced into one book with either title. pity. i'd just get both from the library and photocopy which 'odd one' pattern you might like a bit.
