4.0 out of 5 stars Underrated, and unstoppable quality! 18 Feb 2008
Format:DVD
This season is generally seen as a weaker season when comparisoned to many of the earlier seasons, yet this is a false overall opinion of what truly is one of the greatest Tv shows of the past decade.
This season truly plants the changeover from old to new in terms of the characters, as we say farewell to one loved + hated character, a huge loss to the show, as well as Gallant, who is one of the genuinely better characters to be in the show departing from the main cast, despite returning in random episodes over the following two seasons.
For the more modern fans, this marks the entrance of many of the current cast, Neela, Sam and Morris all make theyre entrances into the scene!
Also, we begin to say farewell to Carter, in what is his his penultimate lap around county.
A brilliant guest turn from Thandie Newton, a guest appearance from a young Zac Efron, a return to africa all make season 10 a fantastic season, with 'The Lost', 'Freefall' & 'Midnight' being the stand out episodes!
A tank smashes through Chicago after Morris, and you'll only find out why by watching this season on ER!

4.0 out of 5 stars Still Going Strong 30 Aug 2008
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Its difficult to be objective about this series especially after 9 years. Assuming you've watched from the beginning then you've seen tragedy, joy and humour within the ER of County General.

However that said this series is in comparison maybe not as strong as it could have been wheh compared to earlier seasons but it still has many outstanding moments and episodes.

Without a doubt though this season contains one of the best ER episodes of all time which is episode 2 "The Lost" which sees Carter return to the Congo to search for the body of Kovac who has been reportedly killed by Congolese Militia (Kovac's point of view is seen via flashbacks)
Not suprising the episode received an emmy nomination for the directing.

as always the filming is superb making excellent use of steady-cam shots and there are some awe inspiring moments, some characters leave (Romano has a....well i wouldn't want to spoil the surprise) and some new characters arrive. Coming into such a well established cast and crew does show in some of the early performances by Parminder Nagra and Linda Cardellini but they get much better as the season progresses.

3.0 out of 5 stars Mostly Good with Some Low Points 13 Sep 2008
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Much of this season is good old reliable ER, well acted, well produced with a good mix of storylines. The characters (mostly) continue to develop in plausible and interesting ways.

The return to the Congo is well done and genuinely tense. On the other hand the incident with Romano (I won't give it away) is a real low point and whoever wrote the script for that should have been fired. The aftermath is also silly and unconvicing, and indeed some of it not in keeping with what we know from previous series. But that is only one storyline and there are many others that more than make up for that blip in the producers' judgment.

Overall, it may not be as fresh and novel as the first season, but if you're an ER fan then it's well worth buying this season. (I would have given it a 3 1/2 star rating but Amazon doesn't allow for that).
