Review of Epson WorkForce Pro WP-4025DW Inkjet Printer

This printer can be reviewed by pretty much one word... Excellent!!

It is easy and straight forward to install and setup. The installation disk is easy to follow. The printer is a good size, not to big, not to small. It's a great design both on looks and functionality. The printer is a bit weighty but no heavier than a same size laser printer. It's prints quickly and in a great quality. I think the best feature of this printer is its large capacity ink cartridges. The replacements cartridges are a bit pricey ranging from £15 to £40 but as I already said you will not need to replace them often. I print quite a lot of pages a day and so far I have not had to replace them after a month of medium use. It has a 250 capacity paper tray and has an option to add another 250 capacity tray underneath which is very hand if you print a lot everyday. The printer also has a very handy speciality paper and envelope feeder on the back. I find this feature very useful as I print a lot of sticker sheets and envelopes. I would most certainly reccomend this printer to any one for either small, medium or heavy use in either a home, home office or business office... I great buy at a great reasonable price...

Wow. I'm so delighted with my new printer. Where has it been all my life! I do a lot of craft work and have managed to link it by USB to my older computer in my craftroom and have linked it also by WIFI to the main computer downstairs. I was beat to get good colour results form any of our recent 'all in one' printers so decided I had to get back to printer only function, like we had originally, and came upon this model. What attracted me most was the fact it would print on card - which it does excellently - and the amount of printing from each cartridge. I have purchased the set of 4 Original Epson T7011, for just under £140 from Ink Worldwide but if they produce the suggested 3400 pages from each cartridge I will be well chuffed. I have had the printer for about a month now and even the amount of printing I get through I only changed the initial supplied cartridges, which we all know are not full cartridges, this weekend, indeed the aqua cartridge produced in excess of 100 full colour pages after the initial warning of low ink. By the way I have only replaced the colour inks so far and I am still running on the sample black. Full marks to Amazon for their service and price. I had this delivered to the Highlands within a couple of days.

After my last HP failed, I had replaced with their "Enterprise" 8000 device, which was as good as useless (returned to Amazon), so I switched to this machine as our day-to-day small office inkjet via an Amazon purchase. Firstly, be warned, if you haven't measured this is a beast of a device (45cm square and 27cm tall), as big and heavy as a small laser. However it's well made in the main - except the woeful paper output tray, which is flimsy and doesn't slide in/out smoothly. It has two feeds, a bottom cassette with indicator and a top feed for heavier / alternative media. The driver (under Win 7 and OS X) is excellent, lots of choices and shortcuts, you can tweak almost anything, including print density percentage for all modes. It has a duplexer too. Pushing the ink-cartridges in is simplicity itself, via the front drop down flap. The initial set-up takes about 10 mins to "charge the cartridges" but as yet, it's never had to do this again and I power on several times a day. It is ready to use in 3-5 seconds from cold power-on (unlike the HP 8000 which took 5 to 15 mins). Print is fast if a little noisy, although it does also have a quiet setting in the driver. Print quality on cheap 80gsm copier paper is ok, probably not as sharp as the latest HP printers, but not bad. However on decent paper 100 gsm+ (conqueror for office work and thicker paper for graphics) it is very strong and sharp. I've been using it several weeks at fairly low throughput daily prints and all 4 separate cartridges still show full (and they are only the small "starter" cartridges). As long as it's reliable, reasonably quick, produces good quality prints, doesn't eat ink and starts up instantly, it's a winner for me - and so far all these have been confirmed.Read more ›

Have had this printer for about eight months and although does the job, it has a couple of flaws. The main one is that it draws a number of sheets from the tray when attempting to print single sheet. Printing multiple sheets is a headache but thankfully I do not have to do this often. This results in my having to open the tray and replace the 'unprinted' sheets.

September 12th - Additional to the above. The printer now works perfectly. I may have loaded the sheets incorrectly or used cheap inferior paper. Quite happy with the product now.

Secondly, the Epsom cartridges are expensive - very expensive and unfortunately I have not been able to find cheaper alternatives. Having said all this, the print quality is very satisfactory.

I only wanted a printer for general office use, so technicalities of colour reproduction were of no interest. Every page looks good to me. The big plus is the low cost of the ink sets. This is a very big saving over previous printers. Everything is printed in colour, we don't even try to select black and white.

Now had it 4 months and still very impressed (about the cost per page)
