Responding to the rapidly changing needs of the digital photography market, this versatile photo printer has been designed with both amateur and (semi-)professional photographers in mind. Maximising Epson's technological advancements, the Stylus Photo R1900 enables the smallest details to be captured with its 1.5pl ink droplet. This, combined with Epson's Variable Sized Droplet with Ultra Micro Dot Technology and a state of the art MicroPiezo print head, provides outstanding photographic reproduction at fast speeds.
The new UltraChrome Hi-Gloss pigment ink has been designed for professional print permanence on a large variety of media, with a light fastness estimated at over 80 years for Glossy Papers and over 100 years on Matte papers. Featuring an eight cartridge set, the Stylus Photo R1900 includes Epson Gloss Optimizer technology - a fine tuning tool to achieve a totally smooth gloss finish producing stunning archival Premium Glossy or Semi-Gloss Prints. Whether printing on glossy or matte photo papers, the seperate matte and photo black ink cartridges automatically ensures the best possible photographic reproduction. With the introduction of the new Epson UltraChrome Hi-Gloss2 Ink, the blue ink has been replaced by a new orange ink and as a consequence, colour quality especially on skin tones has been drastically improved.
The Stylus Photo R1900 features true borderless printing at a number of standard photo sizes, advanced connectivity with dual USB 2.0 Hi-Speed ports, CD printing and even thick fine art media support via the roll paper feed. In addition the Stylus Photo R1900 is bundled with a comprehensive software package - Epson Creativity Suite - that allows users to manage their images and navigate easily to the required software application; and Epson Easy Photo Print. Users can also use the interface to attach images to email, send to web, print web pages and easily adjust image sizes and resolutions. Consumers can also have fun with their photo printing, applying different characters, boarders and designs using Epson Print Image Framer.
Epson New LUT Technology is the world first LUT (Look-Up Table) generating technology which automatically generates maximized LUT for the ink technology and optimizes gradation, graininess, colour gamat and colour inconstancy. By optimizing these factors, the print quality is improved. Epson New LUT Technology creates indexes of these factors and automatically selects the optimum colour combination for the ink set.
The introduction of the Stylus Photo R1900 will continue to change the face of photo printing. The benefits of digital photography means that photographers can have total control - from capture through to final print - plus reprints and enlargements can be achieved at the click of a "print" button.

Amazing Printer!,

This review is from: Epson Stylus Photo R1900 A3+ Printer (Electronics)
I have owned this printer for a week now and all i can say is that it is truly amazing, i am an architecture student so i use this all the time for plotting off CAD and printing tiled illustrator layouts, you can print on A3+ paper and i get no banding or poor print head alignment as the review below suggests. The only problem that i can see with this printer is that the ink cartridges are too small at only 11ml, my canon A4 printer has 13ml! apart from that this printer is top notch and i will always use epson for A3 as i have previously used R1800 and 1290 and they have all served for many years before needing to be replaced! All my course mates are dying to get their hands on an A3 printer now and i will definately be reccomending this one!

Epson Stylus Photo R1900 A3+ Printer
I'm a professional photographer and have to agree with the other review from the Graphic Designer.... Don't get this one. Build quality is excellent and I had high hopes as it was unpacked and plugged in. The print quality was poor to begin with and only after plenty of fiddling, tweaking and general frustration have I got to a point where the prints are nearly as good as my ancient Photo EX (now a museum piece). I really expected to see an improvement in 10 years! I print only matt prints and have never used a single piece of gloss paper, however I've used two gloss black cartridges and three gloss optimisers in two months (and about 50 A3 prints) - this is because every time you switch on or do a nozzle clean it cleans all nozzles. When is Epson going to improve software to allow you to purge ONLY the tank you've just replaced or need to clean? You do a 'nozzle check' and there may be one or two colours playing up - why not purge only those colours instead of spraying those precious 11mls (what a joke!) of ink into the sponge at the side? I'm putting this one on ebay so if you think it's great and want it - come and get it. I'm off to look at the R2880 - it is getting decent reviews though does still suffer with the pathetic 11ml tanks....

disaster of a printer,

This review is from: Epson Stylus Photo R1900 A3+ Printer (Electronics)
All I'll say is steer clear. I've always been a fan of Epson printers, but this one is the Frankenstein of Epson printers. The monster drinks ink and you'll find that getting the ink is a big task in itself.
The inks are tiny and don't last very long, which I'm sure is how Epson like it. I normally order 3 or 4 of each colour at a time, any supplier I've tried can't supply the number I want or can't supply full stop! This is the last thing you need from a printer when your income depends on it. A BIG DON'T TOUCH IT from me!!
