5.0 out of 5 stars Epson Stylus Photo PX720W 23 Oct 2010
By Melvin
After been using an Epson R200, a real work horse, for almost 5/6 years and producing excellent service throughout, I decided to purchase another Epson, this time an all in one since I do a lot of scanning for photo editing and printing of wedding DVDs and covers. To my surprise I discovered that wifi have been introduced in printers as well so I decided to buy this printer. The wireless setup was really an easy job to do and installed the drivers on both my pc and laptot. Started scanning and printing right away and the results were simply stunning, also, not mentioning the speed at which the prints were being produced. The prints were really excellent, and as a photographer i can say they match lab quality very easily. The only problem I had was when I used Agfa Premium glossy paper 240gsm. The printer could not pick this paper from its tray not even when I entered the settings menu and ticked the thick paper setting. I put the sample Epson premium glossy paper 255gsm provided with this printer and it was picked up with ease, which left me a bit puzzled. However I managed to get the same result with the agfa paper later on, after I put the slider in the paper tray some mm up. Have already suggested this printer to some of my fellow photographers. Its ease of use, set up, well laid touch display, very fine prints, speed, accepts many memory cards and also pendrives ............... I truly recommend this printer to those who want some really professional results, ....after all its an Epson!!

Our old Epson printer had come to the end of its life and we needed a wireless version for ease of use with our growing collection of hardware.
This printer is excellent! Wireless connectivity was very simple and the quality/speed of printing is far,far superior to our outgoing 5year old Epson printer.
If you like Epson as a brand and need a simple, wireless printer that does the basics very, very well......go for this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent printer. Don't hesitate. 13 Nov 2010

As with other reviewers, my old printer was spluttering towards the end of its life, having served me well for at least 8 years. That was an Epson and I had been impressed with the quality and speed I'd had over the years so decided to plump for another Epson. I'm so glad I did! And... I can't believe how things have moved on since we last bought a printer for home!

Printing photos wasn't the main reason for choosing this printer; it was more about speed, duplex printing and being wireless. But wow! I am amazed at the quality of the photos that I'm printing out and have just ordered up some more Epson Premium Glossy paper so that I can experiment even more. The speed of printing is very quick and the quality is very, very good. Also, setting up the printer was no problem at all and my husband is so pleased to be able to print from his work laptop downstairs now without having to email it up to our home PC and then print it from there. And.... I have also used the Epson printing app for the iPhone and found that to be amazing too. So, all in all, I have no regrets and would recommend this printer to anyone.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good printer but heavy on ink 27 Dec 2010

This is a good all round printer I bought it for my wife who does a lot of card making as well as small office administration work, the print quality is very good but the printer does go through a lot of ink cartridges, the cartridges do seem quite small and larger capacity ones would be a big improvement.

Excellent printer with so many tools. I purchased it for printing to CD's and it does an excellent job, very pleased with the results and the ease of use through an Apple Mac.

Best printer to date and I've had many.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Quality/Easy To Use 19 Jan 2011

What can I say Epson have done it again, if I could give this product 10 stars I would, it's so easy to use and the quality is unbelievable whether it's just plain text or photo's, the disc printing is amazing too. I have been using this printer constantly since Christmas Day including ink heavy projects like photo's, discs and my own greetings cards and only now running low on ink!! add to that the fact that Epson balance quality with value for money and you will find it hard to find a comparison amongst the other brand names. For those of you who are worried about whether the WiFi is complicated, don't be, it's so easy to set up even I managed it and I'm no expert, just follow the (easy to follow)instructions and you will be up and running in no time. I have tried other brands in the past but always returned to Epson and because of the disappointments have vowed never to stray again, and this printer has more than justified that decision.

2.0 out of 5 stars Beware and check reviews of the px710 and px700 19 Nov 2010
About a year ago I bought the previous model, the px700w, and if I'd have reviewed it in the first 3 months I'd have given it five stars.

Things started going wrong very quickly after. The ink seemed to get used up extremely quickly and the expensive genuine cartridges were often "not recognised" by the printer when they were still half full. The printer kept reporting clogged nozzles and the cleaning not only wasted ink but filled the waste ink pads. One year later my printer won't work any more. There's nothing wrong with it at all, but Epson cap the number of times the clean heads can be cleaned, effectively placing an artificial lifespan on your printer. Getting your printer serviced at this stage is barely cheaper than buying a new printer: exactly what Epson want. This practice seems to have been outlawed in the USA but not in Europe. You'll see lots of similar reviews for this model's predecessors now that people have had time with the device.

Epson may have fixed these problems in this new model, but I wouldn't be too sure.
