When you want fuss-free, high-quality printing, scanning and copying, the Epson Stylus SX218 is the ideal choice. Viewing and printing photos is easy using the clear LCD screen, and you don’t even need a PC to copy and print.
The SX218 gives you glossy, lab-quality photos, which you can easily edit before printing using the included software. Adjust colour, change contrast or fix red-eye in just a few clicks.
It’s just as easy to perfect your scans - the included software helps you correct backlight, restore colour and remove dust.
Whatever you print, you’ll get high-quality results every time with the SX218. Produce documents with crisp, laser-like text, and print outstanding lab-quality photos.

Your great-looking prints will stay that way for years to come. This is thanks to Epson’s DURABrite Ultra Ink, which features resin-coated particles for tough, long-lasting results. Prints dry instantly and resist water, smudging, fading and even highlighter pens.
Epson’s individual ink cartridge system means you only ever need to replace the colour used. Since you won’t have to buy a whole new set of inks every time one colour is used up, this saves you money.
Qualified by ENERGY STAR, the SX218’s excellent power efficiency helps you reduce your energy bills and your impact on the environment.
Save time and effort with the included ABBYY FineReader™ OCR software, which allows you to easily edit any text you’ve scanned.
Epson’s Micro Piezo printhead technology gives you reliable, high-quality results that can’t be matched.
Micro Piezo works by running an electric charge through piezoelectric elements, causing their shape to change. This creates a pressure wave that propels the ink. Thermal-type inkjets used by Epson’s competitors work by heating the ink, which causes it to expand and move through the nozzle to be fired onto the paper.
The fundamental problem with thermal inkjet technology is that it’s less robust. The ink has to survive extreme conditions, and the heater is prone to burning out. Boiling ink can cause residue deposits on the element, and over time, this means the printer becomes less efficient.
Avoiding all these pitfalls, Micro Piezo operates at room temperature, offering greater ink stability and delivering perfect control over the size and placement of each ink droplet.
And, as the Micro Piezo printhead is a permanent part of the print system, unlike other manufacturers’ printheads, it is one less consumable to dispose of.
Epson DURABrite Ultra Ink is an advanced pigment-based ink technology that encapsulates ink particles in a protective resin coating. This makes the ink resistant to water, smudging and fading.
The benefits include greater durability and dramatically less bleed-through than conventional dye-based inks.
DURABrite Ultra delivers laser-like text and glossy photos, which last over 200 years* when stored in a photo album.

Great printer works well and quiet too. Very cheap running costs as compatible ink cartridges less than one pound each . Bought three of these printers now for my office

A great printer for a Mac User,

I looked specifically for a printer that would work with my Mac computers and this one came up in my search, along with several others. After reading the reviews, I bought this one.My last printer (not bought from Amazon) was a Brother, that also worked with Mac. After only 7 months the black printer head died, so I'll never buy a Brother printer again. This arrived very swiftly, easy to unpack and the instructions were simple. Upon loading the software CD into my iMac, the drivers and programs were installed. It was quick and painless. In fact, this has been the quickest installation of a printer on a Mac that I have seen. A quick re-boot and I was done. I scanned a page from one of my photography magazines, it sorts out the size of the image you are scanning automatically (so much better than my last scanner! which you needed a degree to figure out how to actually use!) and the image was perfect. I then printed it out and it was perfect. The unit looks good, a nice sleek black which looks nice in my office, it just WORKS! almost out of the box with an iMac and a MacBook Pro (via network) and the only thing I can say against it is its a bit noisy when printing. I can live with that! It was a fabulous price, usual fast delivery from my favourite online store Amazon, it arrived in perfect condition and it just WORKS on a Mac with NO STRESS whatsoever (and printers and scanners usually cause me stress with Mac's) You can't go wrong, I highly recommend it. I'm sticking with Epson from now on, they really do create printers that work with Mac's :)

I read some reviews before buying and it realy helped and I can testify that the print quality is superb, The only concern is the jerky noise it makes before it commence printing. The printer doesn't come with a USB cable so you must buy one with the printer. overall after two months of usage I am satisfied with it.I also got the printer delivered on time thumbs up to Amazon.
