5.0 out of 5 stars problems setting up? Read this review 9 Feb 2013
Must admit that I was a little concerned about the other reviews on this printer but decided to give it a go anyway, after all it can be returned if its not up to scratch.

Found set up very easy and had set up a desktop, laptop, android tablet, 2 android smart phones and an iPhone to work within an hour including the time it took to unpack the box! However a week later after having to change the hard drive in the laptop and reinstall I did have an issue, after much head scratching it turned out that having the laptop in an economy mode had turned off some service that was required by the installation software. After turning off the energy economy mode installation was done in minutes with no issues whatsoever, so if you are having installation issues it could be an idea to check your power options, I wasn't even aware that this mode made any changes to services running nor does it state that it does in any of Microsoft's info!

Inserting the ink was too, not sure how the ink changing could cause anyone any issues, it wasn't even necessary to read the instructions as it was all done automatically other than clicking the cartridges in to place, the head moved itself into the right position and it recognised both the original carts that came with it and a set of compatibles that I bought. Ink usage hasn't been so poor in comparison to other printers that I am concerned about that, in fact I would go so far as to say I'm happy with it considering that the ink is the expensive part of printing and the printer itself is just an initial outlay I've managed 100 full colour full page invites that I have been printing and the inks show at just over half full.

Update on below review.

Regarding the changing IP address, I have now manually given the printer a fixed IP via my router and for now it looks to have worked.

Regarding the power settings, having received a tip from raigraphixs (thank you) I have now changed the auto power to off. This is done in the following way (XP but I guess very similar in Vista and W7).
Printers & Faxes
Right click on the printer
Printing preferences
Maintenance tab
Printer & optional information
Current printer settings - hours
select off then send.
Job done

Regarding speed, still not as good as the SX600FW

Regarding ink usage, better with the more costly ink option, again still not as good as the SX600FW.

Mass printing, still way off that of the SX600FW.

Updates to follow if I come across anything that might help.

Star rating still at 3 stars as I've not tried to print any photos yet.

Original review
I pre ordered this as I have an Epson SX600FW that is excellent and needed something I could move to an alternative location in the house with relative ease , other than the same manufacturer that is as close as they come to doing a similar job as a printer. Yes delivery was perfect and the printer arrived on time, expected as it was a pre order.

Now for a few things I don't like and that I may have over looked prior to purchasing.

Set up isn't that simple & I know my way around interfaces and IP addresses, takes about 10 to 15 mins. Then once set up there is very little you can change.

Works well with iPad and iPhone so at last can communicate and print letters etc direct from device rather than trying to resend to outlook so it can be printed via pc

2.0 out of 5 stars Not happy 16 Nov 2012
Epson Expression Home XP-202 Wi-Fi Small-in-One PrinterThe only good thing about the printer is that it prints good pictures, but the setup and changing inks is a nightmare. Every time it will not recognise the ink and I have to go through a process of rubbing the green connector, I have twice been in touch with Epson helpline and had to work out what is wrong with the machine and it is only two weeks old. The ink only lasts a short amount of time. Would not recommend it.

I bought this printer from a well known high street computer retailer. All I wanted was a basic printer that could print copy and scan and that could print good quality photos and was compatable with both my Mac and PC. It didn't matter to me how quickly it printed (as it was quite slow), as long as what it printed was good quality. Initially this printer lived up to my expectations, I was quite pleased. The only negative thing was it was supposed to be wireless (which it was) but when not used for more than 5 mins it would switch itself off automatically so when I wanted to print from a different room in the house wirelessly, I would have to go downstairs where the printer was to switch it on again which seemed to defeat the purpose of it being wireless! If a printer is switched on, it should stay on until I decide to switch it off.

Anyway little did I know there was worse to come....After the free cartridges that you get with the printer ran out I bought Genuine Epson Cartridges from the same store where I bought the printer from. The printer did not recognise the cartridges. It just kept coming up with one error message after another. After spending over an hour online with an Epson customer service representative, they confirmed the printer and not the cartridges were faulty and said I would have to take it to my nearest Epson repair centre. My nearest Epson repair centre wasn't 'near' at all, so I decided to take it straight back to the shop I had bought it from and they gave me a full refund. It is only since I have looked on Amazon I can see other people have had the same problem as me with it not recognising the ink cartridges. I have now been forced to buy a more expensive model of printer, so I went for the Epson XP 405 and so far so good.
