This unit might not satisfy the dedicated home cinema enthusiast with megabucks to spend, but I have found it to be a practical and easy to use piece of kit. It really came into its own during the World Cup enabling us to put a big tv picture up on screen for family and friends (and a 10 year old footie fanatic's birthday gathering).
Setting up is easy whether for tv or dvd playback and it can be hooked up to a PC for powerpoints and digital pictures. It has all the necessary controls and the built in speaker is perfectly satisfactory for normal domestic purposes though again cinema buffs will probably growse about absence of surround sound, woofers, tweeters and all the ear deafening sounds they so love. The built in dvd player is a great idea - it saves the hassle of hooking up a separate unit and gives you an 'all-in-one-box', highly portable solution.
Controls are straightforward, it includes keystone adjustment if you are projecting up at an angle and has a useful coffee-break control on the remote for pausing a presentation.
Picture quality and definition is good but probably not outstanding when compared with projectors of greater sophistication and cost and some may find the relatively short 'throw' a limitation if they want to use this in a hall, say. However, it is meant for domestic not professional use.
It seems equally satisfactory when used in dimmed out conditions or in normal daytime room brightness and has an ambient light sensor enabling it to adapt picture brightness to the general conditions.
We haven't had it long enough to judge lamp life but it does have a means of recording lamp use which will help us judge when the lamp is likely to need replacement. I've no idea how much that might cost but suspect it won't be cheap.
On the evidence so far, I strongly recommend it as a good all-rounder.
