Bought the Epson to replace a worn out HP colour laser, sad that it's cheaper to buy a new printer than have bought the HP replacement parts!
Chose the Epson based on low price, speed and lower consumables cost. So far the speed is very good once it warms up but is slower off the mark than the HP if you are printing single pages. Can't comment on the consumables but they should be cheaper based on Amazon prices and pages per toner cart. Had major problems with installing the toner carts, it's not clear from the instructions and I struggled - even had yellow toner dropping inside the machine at one point! Gave up thinking I was damaging the printer and rang Epson support who were excellent, I was not being firm enough in pushing in the cartridge. They talked me through the sequence and all went well. All in all I would recomend this printer and was very pleased with the Epson support service.

Arrived within a day, after a couple of weeks a message started to appear advising a service was required (E511) called Amazon who gave me contact details for Epson Technical Support who talked us through the query which related to the photoconductor and the problem was resolved immediately. Excellent service from both Amazon and Epson.

Actually didn't buy from Amazon. Got a better deal at the time from Viking.
The printer gives outstanding colour and mono output.
It is ENORMOUS compared to a colour inkjet and it takes a while for colour images to come out when doing a one-off (cos each individual colour cartridge has to rotate).
BUT well worth it.
