Product Description

Matt LeBlanc plays a deliciously outrageous version of himself in this laugh-out-loud comedy from creators David Crane (Friends) and Jeffrey Klarik (Mad About You). Episodes offers a peek behind the curtain at the insanity of Hollywood. You’ll never watch TV the same way again.
Sean (Stephen Mangan) and Beverly (Tamsin Grieg) are a happily married English couple, who are also the successful creators of a hit British TV show. Their life seems complete. That is until a hugely powerful and charismatic US network president persuades them to move to LA to remake their show for American television. He’s full of praise and promises “not to change a thing”.

However, things begin to unravel as soon as Sean and Beverly arrive in LA. They discover that the network president has never even seen their show. To make matters worse, he insists that they replace their brilliant lead actor (Richard Griffiths), an erudite Royal Shakespeare veteran with... Matt LeBlanc! Sean and Beverly are appalled. But the decision is out of their hands. Matt comes on board, and soon Sean and Beverly find themselves in a complicated triangle which threatens to destroy not just their TV show but also their marriage.

Lauded by USA Today as “easily the best new sitcom of the season”, the critically acclaimed Episodes returns for a much-anticipated second series.

The second series picks up four months after the end of the first. Sean and Beverly’s marriage has been blown apart by Beverly’s fling with Matt, and Matt’s friendship with Sean appears to be beyond salvage. But as their sitcom “Pucks!” is about to premiere, all three are forced to find a way to continue working together. As the series progresses, we are plunged deeper into the twisted world of making television. It’s a portrait gallery of megalomaniac network executives, surgically-enhanced actresses and naked stalkers who appear unexpectedly in your kitchen. Through it all, Sean and Beverly struggle to rediscover the love they had when they started their American adventure, while Matt struggles to reclaim the stardom that was once his.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant! 24 Feb 2011
By Billy
Format:DVD
An absolutely fantastic series! Ignore the critics and check it out. As others have already said, not strictly a sit-com, but that isn't a bad thing. It feels far more 'adult' than a sit-com - if that makes any sense - and the acting from all three main leads is brilliant. Matt LeBlanc is especially good, throwing in more than the odd reference to Friends and 'Joey' - which, as a masssive Friends fan (don't let that fact influence your opinion of this review) made me smile.

Really, really good show - strong performances, shot beautifully, and great story/character development.

5.0 out of 5 stars Episodes 16 April 2011
Format:DVD
Watched the series on TV and had to get it on DVD, it's funny and the best new series I have watched in ages, so now I can watch re-runs until the next series starts. Lots of my friends missed it so the disc is now doing the rounds. Didn't know if I could watch Matt Le Blanc without seeing Joey, but he and the whole cast were great. If you are offended by swearing then you need to pass on this!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good idea well delivered 10 Mar 2011
Format:DVD
I've read a number of the negative reviews with interest and am glad I didn't read them before watching this series as they would have probably put me off.

Having watched the show I thought it was funny - well written, well casted, well acted. An interesting idea.

It's a comedy rather than a documentary so yes, a few of the siuations may be a little contrived, the characters may not always respond in true life fashion with odd decisions and over reactions but they do all add to a more entertaining show, after all isn't that the basis of most sitcoms?

Some very funny memorable moments with all 3 actors performing well. Enjoyable, and look forward to Series 2.

5.0 out of 5 stars Episodes DVD 21 Mar 2011
By Ruthie
Format:DVD
Saw the series on television and ordered the DVD to give to our son and daughter-in-law as it was very entertaining, amusing and refreshing! Very cleverly written and well acted. Matt LeBlanc, Tamsin Greig and Stephen Mangan are brilliant as was the supporting cast. Smattering of "Friends" but with a difference - looking forward to follow up series. Beware: adult humour - not suitable for children.

This series far-exceeded my expectations. It was the most amusing thing I have watched in a log time. Excellent performances by all the leads. A bit shocking in places - great television. A definite recommendation and 5 stars. BBC - make Series 2 please.

4.0 out of 5 stars I just love Episodes
It's cringe worthy, it's full of bad language, it makes you feel uncomfortable at times and that is why it is so very, very good.
If you missed this rent it, it's so worth it.
