I enjoyed the author's historical novella, The Short and Fascinating Tale of Angelina Whitcombe, and so was intrigued to find that she had written a contemporary romance. I typically don't read new adult stories, but this one sucked me right in for a whole afternoon.
The key for me was the heroine, Emily, who is only 21 but is no doormat. She has a career and a life ahead of her but decides to use her summer to investigate a part of her past. Daniel, the older, handsome, billionaire (of course!) hero, was a central figure in the event that changed her life and fascinates her more than she expects. The attraction between the two of them is perfect, as is the yummy, angsty drama.
I am shocked that there are not more glowing reviews here and so want to add my two cents. I sincerely hope romance fans find this fun, well written book, and I look forward to reading more from Ms. Darby.
