Lucy Tobin's book is a great read for budding online entrepreneurs, For a start its well written, concise and to the point. as someone who has been involved in a so far successful online start up I recognise lots of the points made, and if I had the book 3 years ago it would certainly have saved me time and money! Its split into 2 parts, the first half and the most interesting is a set of biogs on several of the UK's leading online businesses and their founders. This is really useful stuff as Tobin has captured the essence of each business and common threads appear. The second half of the book is a great guide to setting up an online business, full of invaluable information and contacts. Its overall strength is that its is not too long, chapters are concise but content rich, and you can read it right through or, as I did, a bit at a time quite easily.
Business books should be more like this, too many business writers pad out their books to make them feel authoritative, Tobin does not need to, and the book is better for it.

I was advised to read Lucy Tobin's Entrepreneur by a friend who had heard that I was starting up a website. I immediately bought the book and after a few chapters promptly bought 2 more copies for my co-directors. It is essential reading for anyone, like myself, starting up an online business; it is full of wonderful anecdotes and advice from successful business people who have gone down the same route and are willing to share their valuable experiences.
We all found it easy to read and not a dirge, like so many books of this ilk. The book is well researched, informative and with lots of sensible ideas and easy-to follow guide-lines. Having read it, we all felt inspired, encouraged and motivated. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this book to any burgeoning online entrepreneurs.

Loved this book.
I've always enjoyed this writer's articles in the Evening Standard - she's always very direct and to the point - this book is the same.
Quick, easy reading, very useful and practical advice. Plus some very inspirational stories from people that have been there and done it.
