Book Description

6 Sep 2012 Violet Eden Chapters
I looked up at Phoenix. I think he loved me once. 'You don't have to do this,' I whispered.

Since Violet Eden discovered she was Grigori - part angel, part human - her world has been shaken to its core. No longer sure who to trust, Violet soon realises that everyone is hiding something. Even her soulmate, Lincoln. Only one thing is certain: dark angel Phoenix has a hold over her more dangerous than ever...

In the race to win the battle against the darkness, Violet's own powers will be pushed to the extreme. And the ultimate betrayal will be revealed...

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE this series so much!!! 5 Nov 2012
Format:Paperback
I freaking love this book series so damn much and besides Jennifer Laurens' Heavenly, this of the best YA book series featuring angels I have read so far! It goes without saying that as this is the second book in the series, if you have not read Embrace then do not go any further as you WILL encounter spoilers.

Before reading Entice, I was unsure whether or not I would have to re-read Embrace to remind me of some of the major plot points. I asked around and was assured that I didn't need to do this but I ended up doing it anyway because I felt like re-reading and I think it helped (but it's not entirely necessary).

I'm going to start by going in for the kill and saying that Entice did not disappoint ONE BIT although that being said, I was a little disappointed with Phoenix's behaviour but I understand that there was only one way he could go.....and that's bad. Basically, he's hurting BIG TIME. I think because Violet was the first person to believe in him, to really care about him and show him that he's worth caring about and I think despite the alleged lies and deception on Phoenix's part, he cared about her too.

I want to give a big shout out to the awesome new secondary characters, especially Spence. Dude! I love his mischievous spirit and if Violet didn't have Lincoln...I mean Phoenix...I mean Lincoln then Spence would totally be up for the part. Also, Steph the non-new-character-and-general-best-friend needs a mention because she's smart, she makes me laugh and I'd love to have a best friend just like her. I also enjoyed seeing Onyx play at being a human but I shall say no more about that.

I have to say that despite how much I love Lincoln (and I do, I really do) I guiltily enjoyed and understood the hold Phoenix still has on Violet. Amidst everything, Lincoln and Violet are still pussyfooting around each other, trying to define just what their relationship is and he really needs to learn to STOP hiding things from Violet *rolls eyes* boys... I'm also really glad that Violet is fully up to speed with what she is now and is certainly embracing (no pun intended) her fate with flare.

You'll be pleased to know that as ever, the book is not just about Violet and Lincoln's relationship as there are more important things at stake like...oh, I don't know....only the fate of all Grigori on Earth! I LOVED the whole `race to the scriptures' element which made things more exciting and the traitor amongst them certainly upped the ante by adding more conflict to the mix. There is no way I would EVER have seen what was coming at the end of the book, that's for sure and for someone who can usually see the plot twists, this made for a refreshing change. Let's just say that book three is set up nicely, thank you very much and never has the temptation to buy the Australian copies been stronger, especially as they are available over there RIGHT NOW (but it would probably cost me an arm and a leg to do it!)

Entice was everything I thought it was going to be and more, I think this series just keeps getting stronger and stronger and I cannot wait to find out what happens next. Australian friends? SAY NOTHING.
