A small producer located in the Erbusco commune of the Franciacorta region, the heart of sparkling wine production. Enrico himself, an aspiring winemaker, bought a single hectare of vines in 1975 and started to produce a red wine, which he sold to local restaurants in demijohns. However, wanting to make more serious wines, Enrico enlisted the support of his children, Lorenzo and Paola, and Paola's husband Enzo Balzarini, and in 1984 they acquired a further 16 hectares of vines with the aim of producing a high quality traditional method sparkling wine. Franciacorta Saten is called so for its silky texture having been bottled under a lower pressure. The award-winning Saten from Enrico Gatti is characterised by its beautifully soft, creamy mousse and rich notes of honeysuckle and biscuit.
