Finally a reissue of a lost classic.
ENNISMORE is a fantastic album and should be in everyones collection.
And its nice to have it doubled up with JOURNEY ( not quite as good )
as the running time is quite short.
Not a wasted track in sight .... well done to the record label for bringing on back the good times !!
Colin still tours and the last time i saw him was with Manfred Mann
... still sounding good !!

Colin Blunstone's 'Ennismore' is a timeless classic. He never bettered this album and it's great to finally have it on CD in Britain - although a few years ago I just couldn't wait and bought the CBS/Sony Japan issue of it. Now, Rocket Records, wake up! - isn't it time you re-issued 'Planes' by Colin Blunstone???

Just one criticism - what a truly ghastly CD cover on this re-issue! The original cover of 'Ennismore' is fabulous. Why make this hash-up?

I am so very glad to have this album back in my collection at long last. The addition of another jem "Journey" also helped. This is the album to listn to on a lonely winter's night (or autumn for that matter). The songs are mostly written by Colin and show a quiet beauty that is often etheric. Colin's breathy voice takes us down windswept paths into vista's and heart paths that are truly only known to him, but which serve to evoke many emotive strains in any sensitive person.

The first track is a song written by Argent front man and talented songriter in his own right, Russ Ballard's "I Don't Believe in Miracles" Colin has rerecorded this song recently with Rod Argent, and it is nice to hear how it sounded in the beginning.
With "Exclusively for Me", Colin ventures into soft melancholy, and continues to draw in the night all around him with this song. As the sngs all wrap around each other showing the unique versatile style that has come to make up this artist, you might be left wondering why on earth this album never got the recognition it truly deserves.

"Journey" has grown on me since I first got this, so now I can say that I even like this one as well, especially the opening track "Wonderful". In many ways it is a good mix these two together, and the beginning of "Journey" is even a true extension of "Ennismore". Perhaps the two most prolific albums are these two, and I am a huge fan of "One Year". The growth has in fact never stopped, and actually the best has gotten even better, so it is a nice treat to go back down memory lane and hear a great classic.
This is a must have!
