Product Description

If you have a Wild, Unruly, or Undisciplined Daugher, two Ladies of Genteel Birth offer to Bring Out said Daughter and Refine what may have seemed Unrefinable. We can make the Best of the Worst'When Amy and Effie Tribble, two charming but impoverished spinster sisters, lose out on an inheritance, they place this advertisement in The Morning Post and hire themselves out as professional chaperones. Vowing to prepare even the most difficult misses for marriage, the Tribble sisters will spend a London season on each client, educating them in their School for Manners.Stunningly beautiful, the dazzling Delilah has had plenty of marriage proposals but having once been spurned by Sir Charles Digby, the only man she has ever loved, she is now a hardened heartbreaker who toys with all her suitors. I thoroughly enjoy M C Beaton's books. The outcome is fairly predictable from an early stage in the book but how it is achieved gives insight into life in those days and there are lots of unexpected twists and turns along the way. A good book to relax with.

This book was great fun as usual from Marion Chesney made me laugh several times. Light hearted and enjoyable. I love books with humour so this shield away a very pleasant hour or two.

Just love the Tribble sisters, even if the stories themselves are far-fetched, the book is entertaining! One has a certain empathy with Miss Amy but I find Miss Effy rather annoying. Love the fact that these elderly spinsters have still not given up on finding love and marriage! An easy read not to be taken at all seriously.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy Read 11 Aug 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
True Beaton style school for manners. This time it is Delilah who has been sent to the Trbble sisters to be prepared for the coming season. Delilah is the usual fiesty character who defies convention and has ideas of her own on how her life should be ran until she starts to fall in love. Is he right for her or is he just stringing her along? Should she spurn his advances like she has spurned advances from previous potential suitors?

Easy read. Would recommend.
