"Sugarland"'s second album "Enjoy the Ride" consists of 11 tracks, most of which gradually almost blend into one music piece. This is one of the feelings it leaves on first hearing. It sounds like Sugarland No 2 is weaker than Sugarland No 1 ("Twice the Speed of Life"). But things are not that bad when you listen to it again.

After their successful first album we'd expect the same joy of both upbeat and intimate music from the trio. But here comes just upbeat music from the duo. Fortunately, the lead singer is still there, her voice too, her energy and style of radiating positive energy with music seems to be there too. But practically gone are the soft, intimate, quieter notes and tunes. Maybe only in "Stay" there is something left of that side of "Sugarland"'s signature art.

They have two 'signatures' though. And the optimistic, filled with energy, loud, pushing signature is there in most of the tracks. You would especially like "Country Line", or "Want To" where the pushing is not overly-loud or overly-pushing, though they are still far from the appeal of several biggest hits of the group's first album. Some other tracks are just a continuous loud exhibition of Jennifer Nettles' vocal potential and instruments that can make the packed stadium dance and cheer, but might be just a tiny bit much for other occasions. Still, tracks like "Happy Ending", "April Showers", and "Sugarland" manage to balance between energizing and desire to sing along. This saves the album. And this CD is also great to listen to while riding a car in an open road (especially titles like "Settlin'"), which fully justifies the title of the whole album. You can still hear artistic attitude to voice and music in most of the album's material.

I dont know how anyone can call this album Loud, Bland or not as good as their first one,... Twice the Speed, because i think Enjoy the Ride is equally as good. Although this album was made with Sugarland now a duo as opposed to the trio they started off as, i feel nothing has had to be sacrificed. Jennifer Nettles amazing voice entrances you through each and every track.

Settling is a fantastic intro and sets the pace for the rest of the album, and just like Twice the Speed, its hard to pick a bad song on the whole album. But for me, my favorites are Settling, Want To, Everyday America, Happy Ending, These Are the Days, April Showers and Sugarland, with 'One Blue Sky' for me being the the standout song... basically the whole album! Buy this now,... and if you dont have Twice the Speed, buy them both now. Sugarland are awesome, easily one of the best bands ive listened to for the last few years.

I thought Twice the speed of light was an excellent album but Sugarland have managed to produce just as good if not better album with Enjoy the ride. I enjoy every song but especially Settlin', Want To , Stay.

I first heard Sugarland when singing with Bon Jovi and decided to buy Twice the speed of light, I am so glad I did.

Enjoy The Ride is the follow up to their successful debut Twice The Speed Of Life and they've gotten even better!
They changed producers for this album and it shows. They also started to produce hits in country radio, such as the excellent uptempo Settlin',Everyday America and their 2 big no.1 hit ballads Want To and Stay.Stay also won them Song Of The Year,Jennifer really gets to show off her voice on this acoustic ballad.
Other greats are the easy listening ballads These Are The Days,April Showers and Sugarland. There's also the cracking uptempo Mean Girls which features the amazing Brad Paisley playing a fantastic electric guitar riff!
All in all a fine Pop/Country album that has now made them big stars in country music. You'll easily enjoy the ride with this little gem...

I bought Sugarland without knowing the band. I've heard it on the radio in the US when traveling on business, so I took a chance and bought it when I was back in Europe. I most say I haven't regret it.

Hope that we get a new album in 2008.

First heard of Sugarland when they won an award at the country music awards and decided to give this album a try.
Really enjoyed it especially Settlin and April Showers.
Other country favourites Dixie Chicks, Keith Urban, Rascal Flatt.

I have just heard STAY from this album and what a song. Why this song wasn,t a hit for Sugarland or covered by someone else is a crying shame, this tune has HIT all over it.A beautifull aching ballad sung with great passion by Jennifer. And I was not dissapointed by the rest of the album, they are a new name to me and one I'll be watching out for.
