Amazing...Probably my joint fave album of 2007 so far [the other is Do Make - History in Rust]. This band clearly know what post-rock is all about. They don't overdo it trying to fit in the drops, and the mellow parts so well thought out.

2007 as a year for music has been average. This raises the bar for the next wave of post-rock...and still without new Godspeed [don't you just love the term "extended hiatus"] it's apparent, that the time has come for a new heavyweight....and this band shows a lot of promise [and obviously talent]

If you think they'll fall at the next hurdle, I wouldn't hold your breath...

Imagine a cross between Explosions in the Sky and Thee Silver Mt Zion Memorial Orchestra and Tra La La Band, or This Will Destroy You blended with Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Four tracks clocking in at just over an hour, this band don't like to rush things. And why should they when the music is as satisfying as this. With the violin often to the fore, the band inject further colour with the creative use of non-standard 'Rock' instruments like banjo and glockenspiel. Definitely recommended.

Having heard all 14 minutes and 56 seconds of the first track entitled 'Dash and Blast', i can safely say that this act are definately appealing to the chilled out relaxed group of people that Sigur Ros like to entertain. Full of haunting strings and melodies, this could quite possibly be an album to better the devine 'Takk' by Ros released last year.

Don't be put off by the fact that this album only has 4 tracks either, the fact that each track sounds like it will be a very different experience, each one set to be an epic, creating a breakthrough and earthshattering first album.

You know, if you're into the usual postrock icon bands: Godspeed, Mogwai, Explosions, you'll really want to like this. And maybe you will like it a lot. It's possible. But it's not mindblowing, nothing new, just postrock by the numbers. Don't expect anything else. That's not to say it's not enjoyable, or that it isn't worthwhile. Most genres are stuffed full of bands who just do what everyone else does, and that's okay. It's why you'll want to like this. There's a fair bit of each of the big postrock bands in it: some martial drumming, some lyrical passages, buildups to the big atmospheric payoff, tinkling vibes. But you may just catch yourself yawning towards the end of one of these tracks, because exciting it ain't.
