I've been a hardcore Jello Biafra fan since 1989, when I became obsessed with the recently split Dead Kennedys. Since that time, I have purchased every musical and spoken word CD he has released. This includes the Mojo Nixon, Nomeansno, DOA and Melvins collaborations, along with Lard, Tumor Circus, The Witch Trials and everything else. I thought the first Guantanamo School of Medicine album had its problems, but it was still a good record. Not among his best, but good. This EP, on the other hand, sounds like a bunch of outtakes from that record -- and probably is.
Jello could've written these songs in his sleep. All five feature the most generic and predictable power chord changes you will ever hear. The lyrics aren't bad, but the music is absolutely worthless -- devoid of anything approaching a new idea.
I can't believe I wasted 8 dollars on this garbage.
Hopefully it's just a short nadir in an otherwise strong musical career for Mr. Biafra.
