Book Description

There are 44 main sounds ("phonemes") in the English language which are important for language students to master. This e-book comprises 44 pages, with each page containing a simple picture representing a word that contains the phoneme, and a list of example words suitable for pronunciation practice (with the relevant phoneme underlined in the word). The book also has a fully hyperlinked index allowing the user to quickly flick to "tricky" phonemes they would like to practise again. Perfect for use by TEFL/TOEFL teachers and anyone learning English as a foreign language. Can also be used as part of a synthetic phonics course.
The 44 phonemes are as follows:-
/a/, /ae/, /air/, /ar/, /b/, /c/ or /k/, /ch/, /d/, /e/, /ee/, /f/, /g/, /h/, /i/,
/ie/, /j/, /ks/, /kw/, /l/, /m/, /n/, /ng/, /o/, /oe/, /oi/, /oo/, /or/, /ow/,
/p/, /r/, /s/, /sh/, /t/, /th/ (as in "three"), /th/ (as in "feather"), /u/, /ue/, /uh/, /ur/, /v/, /w/, /y/, /z/, /zh/.
/a/ - apple, mat, cat, dad
/ae/ - cake, ape, tray, they, eight, pain
/air/ - chair, bear, hare, square
For optimal reading experience, we recommend that you select a larger font size on your e-reader.

Worst $3 investment ever.
I think it was maybe 2 dozen pages with like 3-5 words on a page.
I'm requesting my money back.

I bought this as a Kindle book. Although it is short and sweet I think it is a good resource.

This was helpful for teaching and gave me some great ideas for presentations. Thank you. A very simple, but effective formula.

Pretty pictures and good example words to illustrate the 44 English sounds. There are lots of clear space on every page. It would have been very useful to many ESOL learners if the phonetic symbol for each sound were given on each page. An improvement for the next edition?
