5.0 out of 5 stars My Favourite Book, EVER! 17 Nov 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book changed my life.

If you take a look at my long list of reviews on Amazon you should notice that, although I've given other books five stars, this one is my favourite non-fiction book. You may also notice that I've given another book, entitled "Software for Your Brain," almost exactly the same review. The reason is that ET 123 is an updated version of Software for Your Brain. Reading through this book brings back many memories from the earlier version, but it was such a long time ago that I can't give an accurate description of the differences.

I read the free, PDF (electronic) version of Software for Your Brain about fourteen years ago and have been becoming wiser ever since.

You may think that's normal, that everyone gets wiser with age, but it's not so. Most people keep the same beliefs that they have as teenagers all the way through their lives, even if those beliefs contradict science, logic, or what most of the rest of the world believes. The biggest problem is that, even though nearly everyone believes something that isn't true, nobody believes that they're wrong.

"What, me? Wrong? Never!"

My problem now is that I hear and read nonsense everywhere, but I can't just tell people they're talking rubbish. That will only cause them to make excuses and defend themselves. The only thing I can do is say, "YOU need to read a book on critical thinking!"

If you believe that anything you know is true (I'm pretty sure that's you) you NEED to read this.

This book not only helps you to bring you down to Earth and have your head screwed on correctly, but also provides tools (Acronyms to understand and memorize) that you can use to improve your thinking.

5.0 out of 5 stars Learning to think for yourself 11 July 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a must read from the Principle for the School of Thinking. It has sent lessons to over 100 million people all over the world. This book has the core of the schools lessons in a simple easy to follow way. It gives a brief history of how thinking has developed down through the ages up to present. It shows how you have learned your current thinking patterns and more importantly how to change them.
It then goes on to show you new brain software in the form of switches, cvs2bvs, this is a perceptual switch which creates an immediate change in the way we see any situation. It sounds so simple and it is. When you read the book it makes sense of why it works, then you see it working in everyday real situations.
In a world drowning in self help books this book is radically different its about being self directed. I have learned how to take control of my own attention using these tools and have found where thinking used to be a messy affair, now it is fun, effective, practical and creative. Check out the schools website as the lessons are free.

5.0 out of 5 stars Learn to think 18 July 2012
By Karen Jones - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Perhaps the smartest person I have met suggested recently that the best thing I could do was to learn how to improve my thinking. "English Thinking: The Three Methods" has made a fundamental difference to my thinking ability. The book offers incredibly effective, yet simple tools that I have been able to apply to a range of situations. The tools are supported by a clear explanation of three fundamentally different types of thinking, the histories of those types of thinking, and how those types of thinking are ingrained. My greatly improved approach to thinking is achieving vastly superior outcomes.

5.0 out of 5 stars English Thinking - Three Methods is career changing. 23 May 2013
By Eils - Published on Amazon.com

I first met Michael in 1990 when I joined his School of Thinking class.Sales success arrived soon after, through implementing the concepts of his BVS2CVS tool (Current View of Situation (SWITCH TO) Better View of Situation. Once this was mastered, I then accelerated my sales program through using Michael's Tenpower - a skill using the powers of ten. 20+ years later, using Michael's concepts, I see endless career options ahead. Why have I purchased Michael's book on Kindle when I already have a paper copy? As Michael says in his book, Practice, Practice, Practice and all the concepts are now contained in one easy to read format. Thank you Michael, looking forward to your next book.
