Each new edition of English Paper Money has been an improvement over its previous edition and this 8th edition is no exception. Now it is 336 pages (7th edition - 252 pages) and on upgraded paper that feels superior to the touch and with an abundance of excellent illustrations. This edition also now gives pricing for the banknotes over 3 condition catagories rather than the previous two which is a real improvement. Although I happily give this book a 5 star rating I do have two minor gripes - there is a 24 page section on 'Treasury Essays' placed in the main section of the book between the Bradburys and the [Warren] Fishers which given its very specialist nature would be more suited as a fine appendix. Similarly, a lot of 'White Note Prefix Information' relating primarily to obscure 19th century notes (which the typical collector will never see or buy) would also be more suited to appendix status. But these are minor gripes and the book is a most welcome update for market prices that moved significantly ahead since the 2006 edition was published.
