1. The supplier:
Box arrived in good time, packaged well enough and no issues with the key (in contrast to Amazon's last supplier JASONCO where it came with a ripped off key - Amazon refunded with no issue thankfully - 10/10 to Amazon.co.uk for aftersales customer service).

2. The product:
Windows 7 is a breath of fresh air compared to XP. Not knocking XP, tried and trusted which is why I stuck with it for so long, but it was creaking especially after the never ending updates. W7 is much faster and refined even with exactly the same hardware. I opted for the W7 Professional version, and it happened to be the OEM version which is fine for me, I don't need support (it's also much cheaper).

To install, I decided at add a new disk and installed cleanly on that. Then over time migrated my existing apps across. I kept the old XP disk in place so I could boot back to XP if I needed to (which I did initially to access apps I hadn't yet re-installed). All very easy to do, and I'd do it this way again rather than try to use existing same disk. It might take a bit longer, but it's a very controlled process, and totally at my own pace which I liked. I use it for business so couldn't afford any risks! (It doesn't allow a simple upgrade anyway going from XP to W7, it has to be a clean install).

The old XP disk is still in place (yes there are even some apps I rarely use which I haven't reinstalled, maybe I never will!). But there are some data files/documents which I've left there for the moment (I think my Outlook PST file is still there!), and I'm in no hurry. All my business files are on a separate server anyway.

There are some W7 "features" which take some getting used to. The "side-by-side" windows feature is very useful when you want to make a comparison, I like that. But it can get annoying when I'm simply moving windows around on the screen and they decide to leap into a preset position I don't nessarily want, and I have to drag them back kicking and screaming.

W7 makes good use of my installed graphics card so things seem to pop open much quicker than with XP. Access to files seems quicker, and I like the Libraries facility. I like being able to hover on minimised app icons on the task bar and see what they're up to (e.g. on IE when you have a few windows open).

I also like the new Start button arrangement, where any frequently used apps or pinned apps also show recently used files that you can reopen (hover on the app and a recent files window pops up). You can also right click on this "recent" document window and pin a document to the list so it's always there when you want it. Very efficient!

I read instructions only as a last resort (and I'm not there yet), so I probably haven't discovered 5% of what W7 can offer, much to the despair I'm sure of whoever designed it. I did have Vista 64 on another media PC (came preinstalled), and I wasn't impressed (as most of the ROW it seems).

However the jump to W7 from XP is well worth it, and the transition wasn't as painful as I expected.

I ordered and paid for the goods on 20th december and still nothing arrived. I sent three e-mails to the people and they haven't had the decency to reply. Thanks to my bank they were able today to get back my money for me. JibsOEMstore are totally unreliable.

Item was delivered in good time and is exactly as described. I fail to see the reason why Amazon is requesting a "review" of a well known and much used operating sytem? Delivered quickly, works fine!
