I got these after doing the Energy survey on the British Gas web-site, which recommended it as a possible way of saving energy. I put one on the dishwasher, one on the washing machine and one on the tumble dryer. They were very easy to set up, just follow the instructions and they worked straight away. You just point and click the remote control and the appliance comes on and you can start it up. The sockets for these were out of sight, either behind kitchen units or the appliance. The only disadvantage we've noticed is that if there's a power cut, you have to reset them as they seem to lose their programming; but this is quick and easy.
Very much too soon to see if they save either much money or energy, but hey, every little helps.Energy saving Standby buster - 3 socket kit - Eco Friendly

I agree with mfl48's comments.....2 out of 3 switches now turning "off" but power to appliances stays on. Can't find any help on-line, very disappointed.

I bought the set of three sockets with one remote. Originally I gave this product three stars as although one socket didn't work properly the remaining two did and the system generally is easy to set up and use.
However after a couple of months I'm having the same issues with all sockets - they just switch themselves on randomly. I thought perhaps something in the vicinity was setting them off so linked them to a different setting on the remote but it has made no difference. I'm now looking for alternatives.

So - good product in principle but some quality issues to sort out before this becomes a product worth buying.

I have had a number of these units for several years and when they work they do a good job and save electricity. However, a number of the units have failed to operate correctly. The remote will turned them on or off but it does not interrupt the flow of current, making them useless.
I have tried to contact the supplier by both e-mail and telephone without any reply. Only the sales part of the web site seems to be operating. The 2 star rating is designed to reflect the instability of the units and the lack of contact ability.
