3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting item 7 Oct 2010
By C. Ake
I wanted a reliable solar charger for batteries and as this is a well known brand I thought to give it a try. A bit pricy, but made well so worth it in that way. It comes with no real instructions but by looking at the pictures I realised the solar panel rotated which helps in getting the angle to the height of the sun right, this is very important as the wrong angle means it won`t charge. Left outside pointed directly at the sun it charges well as the small LED display shows it receiving power. I charged the batteries first by mains power to make sure all was ok then used the sun as a to-up. The downside is it does not in my experience charge in even slightly clouded sky as other solar products do. It did not work when left on the window sill inside on a cload less day so needs direct sun energy. Powers out to other products well when batteries are charged. Overall my comment is that if you are going abroad to a sunlight sky it will work well. As a normal battery charger - no probs. So all in all a good item to be had but just know its limits.
