4.0 out of 5 stars Really useful if you have an enemy!, 19 Feb 2003
By A Customer
I thought this book was really good.

It's about a boy who has an enemy, and his father suggests that they make enemy pie for him. The boy thinks that the pie will be made of weeds, rocks, earthworms and chewed gum. But the recipe is a secret. The father says the boy has to invite the enemy over and be nice to him (to trick him into eating the pie). By suppertime, they have made friends, and the boy doesn't want his new friend to eat the pie, so it has worked!

The pictures are quite funny because the heads are very big. Otherwise they would also be good pictures.

I keep reading the book and still think it is really good. I am seven.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enemy Pie - excellent for kids in kindergarten, 9 May 2009
By Jill (Switzerland) - See all my reviews
'Enemy Pie' is a book which is ideal for children in kindergarten. Not only is it funny, it teaches a lesson about trying to get along with other children. Since we may not like everyone we meet in life, it is helpful to learn strategies to deal with this early. The wise father in 'Enemy Pie' actually does bake a pie while his son spends the day with the 'enemy', but in the end the three of them sit down together and eat the delicious pie (as friends). I couldn't recommend this book more highly. (It might be useful for some adults too.)
