This is the second pair of Endura Humvee Cycling Shorts I've bought - so obviously I like them !
I've had my black pair for over a year and biked hundreds of miles in them, including the Trans Penine Trail - the shorts still look good and there are no faults in material, zips, seams etc. This new pair are olive... some friends also have them in navy blue. The material feel quite thick and rugged, especially at the rear where it's needed most - they are comfortable and don't feel heavy though. There are loads of roomy pockets and some have zips so you can keep your valuables (money, wallet, phone etc) secure. The belt is a bit flimsy but it's ok. I mostly do off road mountain biking so the padded liner that comes with the shorts is a bonus. Shorts ok for road biking also.
You'd be fine wearing the shorts without the liner as casual wear in summer... in fact, I use them for hill-walking in Lake District etc and they are really comfortable. Zip pockets ideal for keeping my GPS dry and secure.
I dare say you can get cycling shorts cheaper but these are quality and good value for money.
For me, the sizing seems a bit out but I like mountain bike shorts on the baggy side - I buy a size bigger than my usual fitting.
