Product Description

Product Description

Many women in the years between their teens and their mid-forties are afflicted by endometriosis, a condition in which tissue that is normally found lining the womb grows outside the uterus. This book is a practical guide for the many women who suffer from this disease. The author outlines what the disease is, why it occurs, the symptoms and their effects, how the problem can be diagnosed and the treatments available. She discusses the likely effects on women's fertility, and presents case histories with women's own stories of how they cope with this debilitating problem.

When I was diagnosed with Endometriosis, i had heard of the disease, but didn't realise that the pain I had been suffering was caused by this. I bought this book hoping that it would give me the information and alternative treatments available. I read the book from cover to cover before my next appointment with the specialist. The book was very easy to understand and told me all about what had been happening inside my body, explaining with the use of diagrams. It also told me of all the treatments and surgery available, along with all the possible side effects. This was very useful, as I found I was the telling the specialist what I wanted to do, and chose the best treatment for me. The questions and answers section is excellent, as it seemed to answer all the questions I wanted to ask.
