5.0 out of 5 stars Leo Sayer's greatest album! 4 Mar 2008
By FAMOUS NAME VINE VOICE
Format:Audio CD
Leo Sayer's deservedly blockbuster chart-topping album from 1976 features three massive top twenty hits - including two number ones for both sides of the Atlantic - each being different; 'When I Need You' reaching the top spot for four weeks in 1977 in the UK, (only being knocked off by Manhattan Transfer's wonderful 'Chanson D'Amour') and 'You Make Me Feel Like Dancin'' which gave Leo his first number one stateside.

This album also includes the rare extended version of the latter American chart-topper which was done on a very elusive 12" Single in 1976, at a time when the maxi-single format was extremely unique to only a handful of gems, and were strictly limited pressings.

Leo Sayer has a reputation of doing various covers of classics to fill gaps on his albums, but these were not always a great idea, however, his rendition of The Supremes' smash 'Reflections' is fantastic and desvers much praise - cleverly re-vamped and re-arranged for the 1970s disco feel. Probably one of the best tracks on this album is the classic 'Magdelena' which went on to become a B side for the British ballad Singer.

This is probably Leo Sayer's best album to date, who at the time had already become a well-respected and established artiste, and who was a chart regular.
