I first read this book at around the age of 13. Having read through most of the school library, and finding none of the books that interesting or captivating; this book was an exception to the rule, and as an 18 year old now, it's still one of my favourites.
Based upon a group of teenagers in Sheffield; the novel tells their tales in a way that's enthralling, intricate, and capptures the psyche of the characters perfectly. This book is multi-faceted, creating a whole new universe for the reader, which is so realistic you often will imagine you're still in the book hours after reading it.
I personally would whole heartedly recommend this book to anyone between the ages of 13 and 35, and would say to anyone over this age that it's still worth a read.
