Hello all Judy Garland fans,
This recording is superb.
It's now the 3rd time that I have seen Tracie Bennett play Judy Garland at the Trafalgar Studios in London at the "End Of The Rainbow". Such a superb performance. I live in Norfolk, UK, so not an easy venue to see good stuff, but so well worth the trip.
Please bring this to regional theatre?.... Norwich would be perfect.
The part where Judy comes on-stage, obviously drunk, spurting out that she has had a lasso thrown around her legs during a show at the "Talk Of The Town" in London, (caught up in the microphone lead), just shows how Judy coped in times when she was absolutely "out-of-her-head", through drugs and alcohol, but sang until she dropped.
For me, this recording brings out both Judy Garland's anguish, but of course, her absolute joy to sing. So poignant.
On the other hand, the actor (Tracie) needs a break, so lets' wait and see.
Applause......!!!
