Throughout this book, I felt as if I was also allowed on Steve's journey on "LEJOG" and that I joined him practically every step of the way. His perception of people that he met and had to contend with were so sharp that your really felt as if you shouldn't really laugh out loud, but you couldn't help it.
He has a great sense of priority - tasting most beers possible, realising which side his bread is buttered on when his wife joined him for some of the walking and ensuring that his journey took him past (or under) some landmarks from his life.
I wouldn't normally buy a book about walking from Lands End to John O'Groats, but I'm very pleased that I bought and read this one. It really was well worth it!
