On receiving this book as a gift, I was initially daunted by its sheer size.
However, I soon discovered that the books purpose is not to be read from cover to cover but to be dipped into when required.
Each obituary is informative and excellently written. Anyone can be found amongst the alphabetised content, from John Lennon to Bob Marley.
This fantastic 'coffee table' read also allows one to discover influential musicians that have sadly faded into obscurity.
Some entries are remarkable; many are amusing and inspirational but certainly all have been the result of the author's painstaking research.
A brilliant, if weighty volume that can be returned to time and time again.
