Book Description

8 May 2007 Sabuda Encyclopedias
Lions and tigers and bears. . . . Stand back for a beast of a pop-up!

Within these dynamic pages lurk fearsome saber-toothed cats, bears taller than basketball hoops, and everyone’s favorite Ice Age giant — the woolly mammoth. Prehistoric Yeti-like mammals, now-extinct birds, and giant flying lizards all come alive in a showcase featuring more than thirty-five astonishing pop-ups. In this third and final volume of the best-selling Encyclopedia Prehistorica series, 3-D masters Robert Sabuda and Matthew Reinhart tackle the titans of the ancient world, awing us with a humbling close-up look at some startling mega-beasts that preceded us on planet Earth.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must-have for a boy 16 May 2011
Format:Hardcover
This book is magical. Each page has several wonderful pop-up images of the beasts. My son had this book from the age of two, though it's kept out of reach and only read under supervision to avoid damage. It's still his favourite 2 years on and the pop-ups are all still intact despite some rough treatment. He loves this so much that I've actually hidden it in the past to give myself a break from it! We don't actually read the text to him yet, just the images are more than enough, but I expect this to be a favourite on our shelf for several years yet. Perfect gift.

5.0 out of 5 stars A superb production! 21 Feb 2013

I bought this book for my grandchildren.I think of pop up books as strictly for kids, but I am 80 and found this one so
hugely entertaining in every way that I can't bear to give it away. It remains on my own bookshelves.I bought another
one for the kids. It's more than a book,it has the ability to act as a therapy to give me a lift when I feel down!

I'm a huge fan of Robert Sabuda, and this is our second book in the Encyclopedia Prehistorica series. It's stunning - beautifully made, incredibly detailed, and entrances readers of all ages.
