I found this book quite difficult to use as the materia medica is organised by the origin of the remedy (animal, plant or mineral) rather than just alphabetically. As a beginner I couldn't tell by the name of the remedy whether it was plant or mineral so this wasn't particularly useful for me. There is also a guide at the back for treating various ailments but I couldn't find any descriptions which matched my symptoms, it was too vague. If you are not new to homeopathy then this book works well as a reference guide. The descriptions of each remedy is very clear and detailed.
The most popular remedies get a whole page but minor remedies get one or two paragraphs. There are colour photographs throughout and the history section is interesting. It can't really be used as a complete guide to homoeopathy but is useful for cross referencing with other books.
